SEP - Elle's Studio

Morning Elle’s Fans!!!
I am super excited to be joining Elle's Studio for the 2019 year!  When I received my first box, I was giddy!!  I knew right away, one of my projects this month had to focus of the black and white 'So Loved Shipping Tags' with support of the colorful January Kit and some large Noteworthy papers.  Maybe I’d even use all of the tags!!!

I didn’t get as far as using up all the tags, but I sure did give it a good try!  In my mind, I was going to create a clothesline of tags with my long photo strip.  So, I started by creating my tag clumps first and laying them on the page until it looked like my vision.

I wanted to incorporate some of the wood veneer extras too.  I used SEP from the JAN wood Veneer, the Wood Veneer Hearts and the ‘O’s’ from XO Wood Veneer confetti.  I laced them through the twine, between adding tags, and let them dangle.  I wanted some of the wood to stay in place so I used a touch of glue.

To finish off my layout, I added a touch of journaling to a January Label.   Backing it with an Acetate Heart helped anchor the label and finish off the corner.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my first project as an ES girl!

You are Way too Sweet - Technique Tuesday

Good morning!
I have been asked by Technique Tuesday to play with some of their new releases each month.
They have asked if I could incorporate them into scrapbooking layouts.
It is a challenge sometimes, but challenges keeps you on your toes, am I right?

For this month, they sent me:

All with matching crafting dies!  I mixed all three and came up with this.....
I also Fancy Pants Poolside for all the papers.

Take a look and head over to Technique Tuesday to see what else they have created new for the month.  You'll be pleasantly surprised!

Instead of your traditional stamping and coloring, I stamped on several different papers and cut them out and layered them.  This gives them detail without all the mess!
Plus, I avoid coloring if I can:o) Unless it is with crayons of course!

I have found, with 6x6 paper pads, the patterns are often shrunk down and will give you smaller pattern detail for ideas like this.

Teacher Appreciation - mambi

It is never too late to honor your kids teacher.  Good thing, because I am always late.
Here are the wrapped gifts my boys teachers received a week late for Teacher Appreciation week.
I wrapped them in the Expandable Paper Pad from me & my BIG ideas.  I used mambiSTICKS to embellish the gift tags.  Head to the mambi blog to see how it all came together.

Happy - Wrap Star - Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants tries to inspire you with different ways of crafting with their beautiful product.  Today, I was asked to participate in Wrap Star.  A design that includes wrapping a present, creating a card or a tag.  I decided I needed to wrap a little gift for a chum, so this was perfect.
There are more details and a step by step tutorial on how to create a pocket for the front of your present.  It's worth checking out.  Trust me.  Plus, its my post so you should!

Pawesome Pup - The Rubber Cafe

Today I am over at The Rubber Cafe with this cute card.

Funny how sometimes when I am creating, I take a break, come back to what I need to work on a create something very similar to what I just created.  I want to share with you that sometimes it's ok not to re-invent the wheel.  If something works, why not do it again.  Here is my last post....
See the similarities???  Changing out the stamps and adding a triangle banner makes this card completely different with the same 'bones' if you will.  Kinda like creating off of a sketch.  Did you guys see Karen's card sketches?  Go HERE to check those out.

Now, the only major difference for this card, is that I cut and piece the house and the dog.  Stamping repeatedly and then fussy cutting the pieces I needed for layering.  The house - that was little different.  I stamped the house out of red, backed the open space with acetate, backed the edges with foam and then added the black behind.  This gives it a flap for the dog to enter and keep warm.  The stunning heart embellishments from Doodlebug, that are included in the kit, helped highlight the house and my title.

Here you can see the layering of the house and the dog.

Here is the banner.  I rolled my ribbon so that it would be thinner and with a Tiny Attacher stapled both ends.

Here it is again.  Go ahead and give repetition a try but vary your papers and stamps and see how easy it is!

21 Things Mini Album

Recently I received a text from my niece from Florida, asking if I would make a list of 21 things that I loved about her sister.  Katie would be turning 21 this year.  Felicia wanted to collect a list of 21 things you love from 21 different people.  Very clever idea.
She mentioned she wanted to do a scrapbook for her.  She was going to be in Maine traveling around for a few days so the list was  needed pretty quickly.
A few days later, I got a call that her and her mom, they wanted to come visit me for a few days.  Would I mind helping with the scrapbook?
Ummm, YES!  Right up my alley.  I think she knew that too:o)
We gathered the best "mature" paper I had, for an elegant but fun mini scrapbook.
Crate Paper's DIY collection was our choice.  We kept the inside of the album very simple.  We did not want to distract from the 21 lists.
The cover, however, we went all out.
We wanted it to be something that would attract you to pick it up from the coffee table.

You can see above how chunky the album got even with keeping it simple inside.

We covered each raw chipboard page with a patterned paper.  She wanted either a photo of you with Katie or a photo of your family.  So, each person had a list, a photo, a doily, and a banner with their name.

These are just of few of the page included in the super fun, super thoughtful book.  I am amazed at how big Felicia's heart is.  Wanting to do something so creative, thoughtful,  and timeless for her sister.  Katie is one lucky lady.
Can you imagine hearing from 21 people, 21 things they love about you?

Peace,
