Santa Stopped Here! - Paper Issues

Morning friends,  I know this looks like my post two times ago,  but I swear it isn't the same one!!  For this layout, I used the Kitchen Sink Kit from Paper Issues.  It includes Cocoa Vanilla product, including the tree that I used before.  Ahem, and the woodgrain I used too,  lol
I honestly didn't even realize it until I went to blog this morning.  Oh well.  They will be separated in my albums so I am not worried.

I just love this photo.  We normally go to the mall every year.  Of course, with covid, this year is completely different.  We did not want Roman to sit with Santa like normal, so our friends came over, one dressed as Santa and we took a photo here on the porch.  We also took family ones, and their family too.  They used their photo for the Christmas card.  I would have but we already ordered ours.

I digress!  Back to topic, here is my project for today.  4 of us crazy gals created with these kits LIVE on the Paper Issues Friends and Fans group.   Go HERE to rewatch but bring your tissues.  We laugh so hard. The rule is, you have to used everything that is included in the kit.  I painted my little wood stars with Nuvo and the large star with yellow Nuvo.  it looked like mustard so I glittered on top of that.  I still see glitter everywhere.  I hate glitter.  Hate it!

Play - Paper Issues

 Hey all!

Last Thursday, I did a LIVE FB video with a couple friends using the September Kitchen Sink Kit from Paper Issues.  I am in charge with figuring out what product goes in the Kitchen Sink Kits each month.  For this past one, I chose papers from the Heidi Swapp Old School collection.  You can see the video HERE

I decided to use this trio of football photos from Rome's Freshman year.  It honestly is a year that we would like to forget.  At least the Football season.  It wasn't at all what we thought it would be.  But, I did have these great photos of Roman being the center, hiking the ball to the QB.

The paper in the shape of a heart was an accident.  I was adding the strips to the page, turned it upside to add more and Kelly said she liked the heart.  What heart?  Apparently, the papers were in a perfect heart shape!  I went with it.  I did not have a clear plan anyway!  I adore how it turned out.  Be on the lookout for next months Kitchen Sink.  It is my favorite one yet!

School's Out for Summer - Elle's Studio

Morning!

Are you aware that every month, new cut files are released?  If your haven't see them yet, you gotta check out the cut files that are released on the 10th of each month.  Elle coordinates fun files with the monthly releases.  Some are pretty fun!  Like the Apple Cut File that was created for August.

Supplies used:  Apple Cut File, August 2019 Kit, Be Yourself Phrase Stickers, Back to School Puffy Stickers, Red Jane Alpha Stickers, Puffy yellow Alphas, Family Fun #4, Noteworty 6x6, Beautiful Day 6x6

I started my layout, knowing I wanted to replicate the apple all about my page.  I opened the file, made it the size I wanted then duplicated it multiple times and moved the apples around the page to my liking. There may be a much easier way, but this works for me.  I backed the leaf section first, the stem and then the apple.

Sometimes when you use a cut file, there isn't much else you really need.  The file provides so much, all on its own.  I did use 3 different font stickers for my title. Lots of color and different patterns.

I encourage you to try using a cut file.  Try replicating it multiple times.  Just go check them out and use them on your next project.

Blueberries Aren't Blue - Elle's Studio

Hey there!

Ever think to yourself, 'how can that possibly be?'  Well, my mom and I had a recent discussion after getting purple blueberry ice cream.  We both know that blueberries can be blue, but mostly they are purple.  So, we decided they shouldn't be called blueberries.  Maybe purple berries!  Who came up with the work pajamas?  Or scrumptious?  I could go on.  It would take all day and with all the amazing goodies in the April Kit and add-ons, we don't have time for that, do we?!

I knew I wanted to create a play on colors with the blue and purple.  So I made sure to layer both colors every time I used them.  Behind the Large Jane Alphas, around the entire layout as a base and under the Mom Heart Cut file.

About the Mom Heart cut file... I only wanted to use the heart part of the file. So, I released the compound path and only used the outer part of the heart.  Releasing it from the text on the inside.  I cut the heart 3 times, decreasing in size by 1/4 of an inch each time.

Along with the blue and purple, I added the beautiful raspberry color that is throughout the April kit.  The Butterfly and Flowers Puffy Stickers had the cutest florals so I had to add them to the date clump at the bottom of my page.  Adding this, lead me to adding the 3x4 floral tag from the April Kit.

I trimmed down the floral tag and tucked it in behind my photo.  Then, I layered with the Days of the Week Phrase sentiments for a little more detail for my story.  Not only does my title depict a story, but I added journaling to the top left corner of the layout to remember the moment for years to come.

M x3 - Paper Issues

Hey there!
How do you keep in touch with people?
How has technology bettered (or worsened) your life?
Let's see those pages documenting all things technology.
Share them over on the PIFF FB page, under Photos, then Albums, then April Challenges then the What's App section.

I went a little different with this challenge.  My way of getting in the photos, as I am sure it's the same for most of you, is to take selfies.  That is the part of technology that I appreciate, especially as a scrapper or memory keeper.

I took a selfie of my fam dam at Gillette Stadium this past weekend.  I tried to get the banners in the background but managed to only get windows.  Oh well, we are ALL in it.  All 3 of us.  Hence the title of my layout, M x3!  Three Maldonado's!  Makes sense now, right?

I used the March Swag Bag, Magically Delicious that you can get in the Paper Issues store.  You can even get Aprils Swag Bag kit now, Spring in Your Step.  Whatever you add to your card, be use to use Mary-Ann at checkout for your code and get 20% off your entire order.

This is Us Together - Paper Issues

Hey there!

My assignment for Paper Issues is to create a project using a Cut File.
That is extremely hard to do.  Know why?
Because there are over 300 FREE cut files in the Paper Issues Store.  No joke.
But, I decided to go with a recent one, since the theme I was going for was about my family.
Also, Valentines Day is fast approaching and this file would be perfect for you to use to
document your love!

Here is what I came up with, for this assignment.

SEP - Elle's Studio

Morning Elle’s Fans!!!
I am super excited to be joining Elle's Studio for the 2019 year!  When I received my first box, I was giddy!!  I knew right away, one of my projects this month had to focus of the black and white 'So Loved Shipping Tags' with support of the colorful January Kit and some large Noteworthy papers.  Maybe I’d even use all of the tags!!!

I didn’t get as far as using up all the tags, but I sure did give it a good try!  In my mind, I was going to create a clothesline of tags with my long photo strip.  So, I started by creating my tag clumps first and laying them on the page until it looked like my vision.

I wanted to incorporate some of the wood veneer extras too.  I used SEP from the JAN wood Veneer, the Wood Veneer Hearts and the ‘O’s’ from XO Wood Veneer confetti.  I laced them through the twine, between adding tags, and let them dangle.  I wanted some of the wood to stay in place so I used a touch of glue.

To finish off my layout, I added a touch of journaling to a January Label.   Backing it with an Acetate Heart helped anchor the label and finish off the corner.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my first project as an ES girl!

January Inspiration and NEW Release - Elle's Studio

Just the other day, I shared my first blog project as a designer with Elle's Studio.
But yesterday, the 10th of the month, there is a whole lotta stuff going on over there!!!
Each 10th of the month, they do their monthly reveal.  This is where I will share with you, the new kit of the month and add-ons that they make public.  We also share a couple layouts that we create with the new stuff.  I think it is going to be super fun.

How about a display of the January new release...

Pretty awesome, right?
They also have some cool Add-on's that coordinate with the main kit.

Here are my two designs using the newest product.  Below the main photos are close ups.  Thanks for stopping by today!
