Beach Bound - Queen & Company

 Hey there.
Just take a look at the new Beach Bound Kit from Queen and Company.
I love it so much.  I created the layout during a FB live over HERE.  Then I created this card during a different live, HERE.  I have decided that I will NEVER create with Queen again without the Outline Dies.  They made making the shakers so much easier.   Almost every collection is being created with a new matching Solid 6x6 Paper pad.  The one to match the Beach Bound kit is gorgeous.

If you want to shop anything Queen & Co., here is the link, HERE.  It is an affiliate link so it does not cost you anything extra.  It gives me a little reward if you choose to shop through my link.  Thank you so much.

The Amazing A Team - Queen & Co.

Good morning!
Today I am on the Queen and Company blog.
Ever pull something together that seems completely different but really works?  I feel I did that on this football layout.  The stars are an obvious choice but the color palette is the question.  If you look closely at my photos, they were taken in the fall of 2017.  So, I wanted to focus on the colorful background of the photos and not necessarily the bright blue of the uniforms.  Using the Happy Harvest Fall Paper pad from Queen and Company, and it helped me do just that.  I pieced together 2 - 6 inch strips of paper with the seams falling behind my photos.  This allowed me to have longer papers.
I then filled some of the Stars Shaped Shakers with Pearls Neutral Toppings and Wood Toppings.
I pieced together a title for my layout with the Word Dies and some old Thickers I had from long ago.
To emphasize the word amazing, I cut scrap white cardstock several times and carefully layered them on top of each other.  I then finished it with a yellow layer on top.  Making it thicker and almost like it has a shadow effect.
Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope you are inspired to create with our Shaped Shaker kits and word Dies.

Open if you Dare - Queen & Co.

Good morning!
Have you seen the Fright Fest Shaker Card Kit from Queen and Co.?  It is filled with the perfect shakers for cards and for layouts alike.  I knew the exact photos I was going to scrap when I received the coffin in the mail.
The best way to show off the coffin, and the creepy zombie pictures, was to line them up like many zombies rose from the dead!  I changed the center papers that lined the coffins and created one shaker and stamped another.
For an additional creepy effect, I added spider webs with my own eerie spiders.  Made from Halos and Iridescent Bubbles.  I drew legs with a silver glitter pen.
Easy Peasy.  So, even thought you may have already sent out your Halloween cards, don't forget to leave the Fright Fest Shaker Card Kit on your craft table, so you can document the fun memories you will be making next week.
Thanks for stopping in.

Spider Fest - Queen & Co.

Good morning!
If you can read this then you are Blissfully UNAWARE of what is CREEPING UP behind you!  It could be a spider.  It could be a spider created with Lollies and Epoxy Dots.  If it is, you are lucky!  This Fright Fest Halloween Shaker  from Queen & Co., is so fun and creepy.
A colorful background makes the black web and its tiny spiders pop off the page!  I used a mixture of toppings to include the ones included in kit.  I used a ruler to create the web that extends directly to my Epoxy Dot spiders.

For my second card, I wanted to create something girly with the web.  Using girl colors, pink and purple Toppings and Pom Poms, it is perfect for the the girl that loves Halloween.

I created my own spiders for this fun card too.  I used Bubbles and Pom Poms with a coordinating colored pen for the legs.
Go grab the Fright Fest Halloween Kit.  Create your cards with ease, since everything is included in your kit.  Or you could add a few additional items like I did.

Holiday Cards - Queen & Co.

Hey there!
Welcome to October!  We wanted to start this month off with a twisted view of Queen & Co.'s,  Window Shaped Shaker Set.  I am here to share two cards that I created with the Window Kit and I really thought outside of the box for these!  Is it Halloween already, or winter? Nope, not yet!  Just wanted to get you inspired to think ahead for your holiday cards.
For my first card, I turned one of the window panes into a tombstone!  It did not take much effort, other than trimming out the panes of glass to have a clear view, and added my own typed sentiment inside two of the windows.
After I completed my Tombstones, I recut them in black to create a shadow, to make things spookier!  The thread you see is meant to mimic spiderwebs.
I filled my center tombstone with lots of Toppings.  Some that came with the kit and lots of Pops Toppings.
It was really fun to mix all the colors to create a fun shaker.

For my second card, I went more wintery.  I used just white and red and splattered paint on the entire card to replicate snow.  The placement of Starbursts, which look a lot like Pinwheels, also help convey the snowy theme.
I thought it would be fun to use vellum for my glass, to get the fogged window look and added white Iridescent Bubble Toppings to replicate snow that has formed between the panes of glass.  If you come from New England, you know exactly what I am talking about!
I hope you will dig out your Windows Shaped Shaker Kit and think about the upcoming holidays or occasions.  They can literally be used for anything!
Have Fun!

Star Power - Queen and Company

Good morning!
Mary-Ann Maldonado here with a fun way to use your shaker die cuts to their fullest potential.  I was assigned the Stars Shaped Shaker Kit over at Queen & Company, and I incorporated it into my title two times!
You can see below that I used a cut file for my title from Paper Issues.  I used a FREE cut file and cut it 3 times.  Twice as a background and once in black as shown.  There are three stars in the kit and I chose the one that would best fit in the place of the A.  I filled it with random toppings to help coordinate with the colors in my photo.
I used the smaller star for the O in Power.  You can sere that I used think strips of papers to create a background for my layout.  Then I journaled on white paper strips and stamped a few sentiments on white as well and tucked them in random places.
I pepped Rubber Bubbles, Buttons, Opals and Rivets for color and embellishment.
Thank you for stopping by today.  Grab your shaker kits and incorporate them onto your next layout.

Love - Queen & Co.

Good morning!
I am here today with a fun layout using the Bug Jar and Love Jar kits from Queen & Co.  They were made to coordinate perfectly with each other.  The Love Jar Kit provides the jar and the Bug Jar Kit provides new jar covers, Toppings, and embellishments to match.
I played with the title of my layout and used a full jar of goodness as the 'O' in Love.
Then I stamped and die cut flies, die cut vellum and layered those together to soften the look of the black bugs.
I wanted to emphasis flowers on the side of the photo to offset the heaviness of the Jar in the title.  I clumped several different styles together to match the color of my boy Milford and his eyes.
Thank you for stopping by today.  I encourage you to use your shaker kits on a layout page.

Bug Jar Kit - Queen and Company

Good morning Q&C friends.
Mary-Ann here!  I was so excited to receive the Bug Jar Kit in the mail from Queen and Company.  I have so many ideas!  It perfectly coordinates with the Love Jar Kit, it just adds additional embellishments for it.  I had to do something with the black and yellow bees!  Wouldn't you?
I started with base colors that would match my tiny bee ToppIngs.  I decorated with a few bees and lightly filled the jar with coordinating Toppings.

For my second card, I stared with wanting to create a blanket for a picnic but it turned into this instead!  It looks like my jar fell over, releasing all of the beautiful ladybugs.
The clouds are from the Nested Cloud Dies.  To cover my glue dots from the vellum, I carefully placed Starbursts and Epoxy Dots.
Thank you for stopping in today.  Hope you are having as much fun with these two kits as we all are!

Using an Ad as Inspiration - Queen and Company

Ever inspired by an ad in a magazine, a graphic on the front of a box, or something you see on Instagram?  Well, I was completely inspired by a photo from the 'ohhappyday' Instagram page.  When Wendy sent me the Circle Shaped Shaker, I new exactly what I was going to do.  It also helps share how cool all the embellishments are in the Queen and Company shop.  Here is what I did....
Here is the photo that I was inspired by.  Sometimes, a piece maybe inspiring and it takes you on your own journey.  This one, I duplicated almost exactly.
I used the circle negatives from the dies in the Circle Shaped Shaker set, and trimmed some in half.  Then paired them with an opposite patterned paper to add more depth.  I riffled through the paper pads that I had and found EVERY color I needed. Finding the colored embellishments was super easy too.  Everything just pops off the black background.
My boys favorite color is purple!  How could I not show you a close up of that section?  Since taking these photos, I have decided that the layout needs journaling.  I may add that to the back of the layout or a little under the colorful photo.  See below for all the bits and pieces that I used.  They are all extremely reasonably priced through the Q&C store.

Graduation and Rainbows - Queen & Co.

Join me on the Queen and Company blog today.
My assignment was to highlight Metallic Bubbles and Cord.
There are so many new embellishments in the shop, that you have to see!
Go HERE.

For my first card, I started with the Foam Front Die - Polka Dots.  I filled the circles with Toppings: Bubbles and Metallic to match my Metallic Bubbles that filled some of the holes.
I tiny sliver of yellow washi for pop and blue Cord and a Paper Smooches sentiment for the graduate.

For my second card, I layered rainbow papers and then the new Cord in a rainbow pattern.  I used the heart and love sentiment from the Heart Throb Shaker kit.   I literally only used one piece of paper for this card.  Its the rainbow sheet from the Fruit Basket 6x6 paper Pad

Thank you for stopping by.  Head to the Queen and Company website to see all the new embellishments that are added often.  They are inexpensive and can add so much interest to your next project.

Party Time - Queen & Co.

Good morning!
Mary-Ann Maldonado here, with a fun, pom pom filled, Birthday Bash layout.  Who doesn't love colorful pom poms?  I know I do!
When looking through the paper pad included in the Birthday Bash Kit, I chose the most boyish ones I could.  Super easy to switch this over to girly too.  I then download and cut a FREE cut file from Paper Issues for the birthday hat.
I placed 1 inch strips behind the opening and then machine stitched around the border of the hat and the layout.

I stamped the balloon bouquet on white paper, tied ribbon and back with foam tape for dimension.  Then I started covering the stamped ballots with pom poms!  I used the star and banner dies to add more to my page.  Then I placed coordinating Rivets on top of each star.  I touch of journaling and my layout was complete.
Thank you for stopping by.  I hope that you are inspired to create a layout with our Birthday Bash Kit.

Sweet as Candy - Queen and Company

My favorite girl surrounded by candy is just right.

I used the papers in the Candy Land Kit from Queen and Company to help draw out the colors in the photo.  Flo can not leave her basket alone.  She can't just pull out the one toy she wants.  She empties the entire bucket for the one toy on the bottom.

Look how adorable the candy jars and candy are from the newest Shaker Kit from Q&C.
