FREEDOM - Fancy Pants

Time is going by so quickly and I am not ready.  This is a photo of my boy, demanding independence.  He wanted to peruse the magazine and baseball card section at Target, alone.  Without me.  Let me remind you that this section is near the entrance and exit of the building.  So, behind the girl clothes I go, pretending to leave but watch from a distance.  I  am not ready for this.

Today, the entire layout is being featured over on the Fancy Pants blog.  Head over and see how grown my baby boy is.  I hate it.

Meal Planning - April - mambi

Because of the meal planner addition for The Happy Planner, I have been on the ball with organizing and preparing meals for my family.  Sometimes there are changes but for the most part, we have been sticking to the schedule.  We have been trying to cut back on eating out, so this is the perfect aid.  I have to tell you, it has saved us money in the long run.  We are eating what we have at home and I find that I am throwing away less waste.  I love the flat and the puffy stickers.  They just add dimension and color to my pages.  I am keeping my planner practical.  You will see cross outs and mistakes, but that is life, right?  I do take out my pages to write on them.  I find that it is much easier than trying to write close to the rings.

This has been so much fun.  You can see what is important, it MAY be highlighted with red washi take and a red exclamation point!  I hope that you will consider The Happy Planner™ to help you plan.

Good Times - A Flair for Buttons

I am sharing a layout over at A Flair for Buttons, featuring three amazing flair pieces that you can find HERE.  I used flair  from Best Friends Flair and Script Words in Color.  Both pretty amazing sets.

Head over and take a closer look!

Hello, friend. - The Rubber Cafe

Here is Roman's favorite card of the month!
He chose this card as the second card to share over at The Rubber Cafe.  It is fun to have him involved in what I do, even if it is a small contribution.  He loves to help, and I love him helping.  Instead of the vintage feel with this camera stamp, I went with a more colorful approach.  Stop over to The Rubber Cafe blog for more information.

Thinking of You - The Cut Shoppe team up with Neat & Tangled

You know, the best part of being on some of the design teams is the teaming up for blog hops or sharing product.  We get to try and create with other items that we may not be familiar with or may not have had a chance to purchase yet.  It is fun.  In this case, The Cut Shoppe is teaming up with Neat & Tangled for the week.  Both Design Teams are creating with each others product, trying to incorporate them both on the same project.
Today I have created a card.  It is over on The Cut Shoppe blog.

Here is the really good news.

The Cut Shoppe is giving away a $25 credit to the Neat & Tangled Shop!  All you need to do is comment on each post this week.  They will choose a random winner from all of the comments on The Cut Shoppe Blog for the week.  Commenting will be open until Sunday, April 19th and a winner will be announced on Monday the 20th.

Last but not least, you can SAVE 30% this entire week during the team up!  Just use code TCSNT30 at checkout to save 30% off your entire purchase.  Discount valid April 13-18th.
Pretty cool huh?

Wall Re-do - mambi

Ok, my entry from the garage from the kitchen is narrow and tight.
It was in desperate need of a re-do.  When I received the Special Edition DIY Gallery Art Pads from mambi,
I headed out to make some changes.

BEFORE

As a family, over coffee one weekend morning, we collectively picked what we wanted on the wall.

AFTER

I used vintage frames to house the art.  I used wash tape to secure the papers to the back of the frames since there was no glass.  This way, I can remove the tape, switch out the art without harming anything.  I also added a few smaller pieces to the metal board with washi as well.

This area needed to remain practical because this is where we keep our schedules and chore charts.  Having a collection of colorful pens nearby, makes it easy to color code activities.

I hope you have enjoyed my very small makeover.  It is fun to change things.
Problem is, it starts a dominos effect and it is hard to stop once you get going.

SMILE - The Rubber Cafe

When I opened my April Creative Cafe KOTM,
my eye went directly to the rose stamp (included) and the floral paper from the beautiful
Echo Park paper pad.  Each month when I create with the kit, I line my cards in a row and let Roman decide which I should post first.  He chose this as the first one, but the next one, he says, is his favorite. You will have to check back next week for that.  However, this one is MY favorite.  I could make all different color roses and change the papers, oh my, I could go one forever!

Be sure to head over to The Rubber Cafe blog to get the directions to create this card.

Always Remember - Fancy Pants

Good morning!  I hope that you are living everyday to its fullest.  Sometimes in our home, days are busy and others low key.  Which is probably the way it is for most of you reading this post.  When I was asked to create something about "living the everyday" for Fancy Pants Designs, I figured that it wasn't going to be hard, right?  Everything we do is everyday.  But, the more I thought about it, the harder it became!  I think they are trying to make us think a little deeper.   Think beyond the birthday parties, baseball games and planned activities.  Think about the ordinary moments that we often miss as an opportunity to document.   You can see from my journaling (in a close up photo below) that I captured a time that is important in our home, yet unplanned.

I would love for you to stop by the Fancy Pants blog and see the layout in its entirety, just go HERE.

Hide and Seek - Paper Issues

Sharing a quick layout that I created for Paper Issues, for their humungous Online Crop they had recently.  I challenged the crowd to create a grid style layout  There were over 60 participants for my challenge.  It was amazing.  I used Echo Park's Jack & Jill collection for this layout.

When Bubba was 4, we used to play hide and seek.  If he couldn't see you, you couldn't see him, right?  This is just adorable.  I can not believe he is so tiny here.  Makes my heart sad, how fast these precious beings grow.

I have a bit of hidden journaling behind the notebook flap.
If you are in need of some scrapping goodies, be sure to head to
Paper Issues and use code: Mary-Ann for 20% off everything you need.
