September planner - mambi

Since I recently created a planner for my son's first week of school with the Weekly Planner Pad, it was time I got busy with MY first week of HIS back to school.  Time for a bit of pampering!  A spa day with my chums, lunch date and coffee with other pals.  Just ignore the nap, nap, nap listed for after church on Sunday!

I started this spread with a color combo.  Many of you have been asking on Instagram and Facebook what the pens I am using.  I love love love the Paper Mate Flair pens.  They come in a variety of colors, and do not bleed through my planner pages or run.  I decided on a very girly palette, just what a mom who stayed home all summer with a boy and his pals, needs.  This spread is about me, my colors, my plans, my favorites.  Absolutely NO ONE else!  I deserve this right?  So do you.  Don't forget to tag The Happy Planner on IG so we can all see what you have been doing to keep yourself, or your family organized.

I made my own paperclips with clips, cardstock paper and stickers!

Weekly Planner Pad - mambi

Sometimes, it is important to get your kids involved.  This is a time where it is necessary in our house.  Going back to school is not a welcome event around here.  So, with a busy "kid" schedule rapidly coming towards us, I decided to use my Weekly Planner Pad to help my boy understand his responsibilities.  Plus, it will help me get him where he needs to go on time.  I asked him if he would like to help decorate my planner pad.  He chose all the stickers and the color of the markers that were added here.  He had the most fun choosing the washi we used from my wide collection.   More activities will arise the first week of school so I had to leave some space for that.  I know music will be added once we get the schedule.

After washi tape, the first thing he wanted me to add is the bus.  Even a kid going into 5th grade, loves bright primary colors.  It was fun to do together.  Better than his Minion calendar hanging in his room with NOTHING written on it!  Maybe together, we can mold him into a planner addict too!

I used the Paper Mate Flair pens that I use for my Happy Planner too.  They do not bleed or run, they are perfect and offer tons of colors!

Summer Plants - Fancy Pants

Good morning.
Today I have a really fun blog post over at Fancy Pants Blog.
I was given the category of Pinteresting.  I needed to find something off of pinterest that inspired me (not scrapbooking related) and create a project off of that.  It was so much fun.  You have to go and see what I chose for a Pin.  Actually, I chose two!!  Here is a peek but I hope you will go over and see the entire layout.

Be Brave - Crate Paper Spotlight - Paper Issues

Over on the Paper Issues blog today, several of the Design Team members have come together to spotlight the amazing Wonder collection by Crate Paper.  You will see different ways to use this amazing soft pallet collection.  Go HERE to see what everyone has designer.
Look below to see my complete project before ya go!

Look at the background paper.   It reminds me of old sheets.  Since I am a collector of beautiful old things, I love the look of this paper.  Problem is, I loved the back of the paper too.  What is a girl to do?  I guess you have to choose a favorite and move on!
This photo was take at Gatorland in FL back in November of 2011 when we decided to go to Disney over Thanksgiving.  If I haven't told you before, I will tell you know, DO NOT go to Disney at that time.  I thought everyone would be home cooking turkeys.  NOPE, they were all at Disney.  The same time we were.  Back to Gatorland, my baby boy was so afraid of the birds in the sanctuary.  So was I. It reminded me of that bird movie.

Gulp, look at the felt hearts that are included in the Wonder ephemera package.  There are a couple different colors but definitely not enough!  I would love love love more.

I felt that the "Be Brave" orange chipboard circle was a bit to bold for my pale layout.  I painted it with paint, wiped it, painted it again, and wiped it again.  I did this several times until it toned it down to where I liked it.

Hope you liked my story and my layout.  NOW is the time you can head over to the Paper Issues blog to see what others have created.  You can also head to the Paper Issues Store to purchase this incredible collection or anything else you may see.

Planting a Garden - The Rubber Cafe

It is the perfect time of year to start reaping the benefits of all the hard work you have put in to your gardens.  There is nothing like a fresh cucumber or greens.  The most beautiful vegetable out there has to be an eggplant.  Which leads me to why I am here.

Have you all seen the colors in this months Creative Cafe KOTM - Farm Fresh?
The Echo Park papers are absolutely stunning and paired with the jewel tones of the Bazzill cardstock, the creations are bound to be beautiful.

Here is my card.  There is nothing extra exciting about my card except the detail in the stamps.  I have no tips or tricks to show you, just plain beautiful papers and clean stamp images.

If you want to see more of my card, closeups, or details, head over to The Rubber Cafe blog.
  Please!

FL Vacation - A Flair for Buttons

Good morning.  For this layout, I searched through our older Disney trip photos to document this mini Indiana Jones, capturing a really large snake!  To capture the entire feel for the moment you needed to see all the photos.  They tell the complete story of his excitement.  If only, when you open to this page in my album, I could have recorded his roar for even more effect.  Maybe it wasn't quite a roar, but that snake knew he was in trouble.

Please head over to the A Flair for Buttons blog to see closeups and the flair that I used.

While I Sleep - Paper Issues

Remember me telling you about the Swag bags over at Paper Issues.  It is a little bag of goodness.  Bits and pieces of random items all coordinating with each other!  They are so much fun and attempt to use as much stuff as possible on my Swag Bag layouts.  If you can't tell!

Go HERE to check out the current Swag Bag.

Go HERE to check out todays  blog post that highlights Swags Bags.

Lets take a look at my layout.

Nothing could be truer than the fact:  when my husband drives, I sleep.  Every time I am a passenger, I can't help it!  He says that my son and I are worthless A drivers.

Be sure to head over to the PI Blog to see what others have created with all this goodness.

Coulter Family Fun! - Paper Camellia

Each month, Paper Camellia provides a sketch as a jumping off point for inspiration.  I love sketches and this is my take on this months sketch.  Boy, this pictures is pretty old.  Look how little my boy its!

Here a look at the sketch.  I just reversed it.

I also painted the weed veneer blue to help being more blue into my layout.

I also created this cute card based on the sketch too.

Thank you taking a look!
