Time Together - Pretty Little Studio

Morning all!
I was shocked when I went to create this blog post over at Pretty Little Studio and saw Aimee's layout that was posted yesterday using the exact same title and paper collection - Indian Summer Collection by Kim Watson! What I love about that is, we can show you so many different ways to create with the same stuff! With fall fast approaching, this collection will get you in the mood to dig out the earth tone colors and maybe get you inspired to decorate your homes for fall too.

I created a sketch for Paper Issues and decided that it was going to me my inspiration for this fun layout today. Instead of fish, I brought in all the fall ephemera from the Indian Summer collection. You can find inspiration in so many places. Sketches, scrap lifts, magazines, color combos and so much more. Although this is sketch is beachy, it easily translated into a fall theme. I can see ornaments hanging like this in December too! That would be magical.

Falling leaves, flowers and gourds take up all the 'white space' on the bottom of my layout. I tacked down my ephemera with stitching, carefully lifted the edges to create dimension and sporadically placed sentiments from paper and journaling to finish off my layout.

I hope you are inspired to get ready for fall! It's getting brisk in the mornings and at night here in New England. I think I am ready for apple cider and hot cocoa. See you again soon!

Together - Paper Issues

Hey there friends.
You have to be a member to watch.  Just request to join and you can see all of the upcoming lives in the Events Section of the page.

I wasn't sure how I was going to play along with the newest sketch (see below) but I love the end result.  I planned to use the stamp set that I purchased, which is amazing, but I was off on my color choices and it did not match.  At all.  You can see in the video.  I think I'll make a card with it instead.

I used the new Celebrate Us collection from a collaboration between
Pinkfresh Studios and Altenew.

The photo is from when I went to Kansas in February to go to a crafters meet up
and it was so close to my niece, I stayed extra days!  We had so much fun.  Her home is darling and her new husband is even better.   Her and I did little excursions.  This was one to the A&W drive through for Rootbeer floats! It was all right before the whole Corona thing.

Anyway, here is my layout and Thanks for stopping by!

Today - Paper Issues

Hey folks.
My layout today is based off of a sketch I created for Paper Issues
They are doing 30 days of sketches right now.  Its actually pretty fun and I was able to create 3 of them.  Ill show you below the sketch for today.
I document a photo of my mom, Roman and I.  We were hanging out at her house not long after Christmas last year.

When I saw the floral ephemeral pack from PinkFresh - My Little Story, I wanted to use as many pieces as I could.  So, this is what I made.

Grateful - Paper Issues

Nothing like going to the Topsfield Fair with friends.
Much better than going it alone.  It means I do not have to ride the rides with my kid and loose my lunch!  I can not do anything that spins and I think he is starting to take after his mama.  I ride before I eat all the goodies.  To me, the best part of the fair is the fair food and friends.

This is my chum Mary.
For the layout, I used Pretty Little Studios - Bohemian Dreams.
I based it on a Sketch from the Paper Issues PIFF page.
I cut out the center of the floral paper and backed it with a typed paper.  Then layered flowers and vintage buttons to surround the frame.

St. Patrick's Day - Paper Issues

Morning friends.
Ready to start those St. Patrick's Days layouts with all the fun products in the Paper Issues shop?
I got a head start using a sketch that Kelly Feldman designed for Keep it Sketchy in March.
Sketches really help me get a jump start.  I am far behind on documenting St. Patty's day, so, receiving this product and a fresh sketch, everything came together really nicely.

This sketch would be fun for any topic.  Grab your stash and play along over on the PIFF FB page.

It's a Boy Thing - Paper Issues

Morning!

A sketch is a great way to get the creative mojo flowing.
I really need it lately.

I dug out a photo of 3 of my favorite boys, having fun around a hotel in Philadelphia.  We met their mom to pick them up for a week.  We had the best time.  Wish we could do it again real soon,  I miss them terribly.

Any-who, I was given a sketch to create a layout over at Paper Issues.  This is what I came up with.  I used Simple Stories Lil Dude from the Paper Issues store.  You can grab what every you need, anytime for 20% off if you use code: Mary-Ann.

Field Day - Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants collaborated with PageMaps for a fun change for the Design Team.  We were assigned a sketch and were asked to use Fancy Pants products.

Here is the Sketch...

I used Family & Co. for my layout and had fun documenting my boy at his preschool field day.  Unfortunately, as happy as he looks in these photos, later in the day he wasn't so thrilled.  His little pal fell on him and he broke his arm.  Poor kid.  We realized something was wrong after 10 days, he could not sword fight with his Dad!  #truestory!  Actually, at the time of the fall, he had X-rays and the break did not show up.  AND - I was out of town for the weekend!!

I did shrink down the sketch a bit, made my papers smaller and used horizontal photos instead of 4 vertical ones.

BEACH - Paper Issues

It is Let's Get Sketchy day over on the Paper Issues Blog.
I played along with the fun sketch and let the paper do the work.  I used Jillibean Soup Shades of Color Soup, a Punch and the letters from the collection.  Bomb.  Done.

This was a super fun day with our friends, the Mastro's.
We built sand castles, the kids covered themselves with dirt, we body surfed.  It was a glorious day.
Oh, and we caught crabs!

Anyway, here is my take on the sketch and I provided the sketch for you to see.
You can play along too.
You have the entire month!
Submit your layout or project over on the PIFF page to qualify for a chance to win a prize.
