Working with Watercolors

Working with Watercolors means just that!  Dig them out or grab your Gelatos, maybe paint if you don't have watercolors.  Ya know, you could even try crayons if you must.
We just want you to play along with us.

I don't normally try my hand at watercolor.  So this was a fun challenge for me.  I tried to create blocks of colors with my watercolors, that matched as close as I could get to the striped paper in the background.  I was off with the blue, so I covered that with my photo.  Problem solved!

I used MME (My Mind's Eye) Wander collection.
It is perfect for documenting my sons Boy Scout trip from last year.

So, to play along, all you have to do is, create a new project with watercolors.  You can find several watercolored inspired products in the Paper Issues Shop.  You have until August 5th to play along. Your entry must be new and no double dipping!

Use code: Mary-Ann to get 20% off anything you need from the PI store!

Better Together - Paper Issues

Last summer at a Lobster BBQ, these two got to hang out.
They are cousins (by owners) and don't get to see each other very often.  They do have a good time.  Ozzy, the handsome boxer, is pretty old but thinks he is a spring chicken when Flo comes around.

I used My Mind's Eye Hey Mister from the Paper Issues store.  You can grab it for 20% off with code: Mary-Ann.  It would be great for Father's day or any masculine project.  I love the bulldogs throughout the collection.

You're on my Face! - Paper Camellia

Flo is my dog.
Where ever I am, you will find her.
Soon as Randy leaves the bed, she jumps in.
If I am in the kitchen, she is underfoot.
When I shower, she is waiting by the door for me to finish.
When I sit on the couch, she sits right next to me.
When I lay on the couch, well....... this happens.

For this layout, I used the main scrapbooking kit from Paper Camellia.  This crazy layout is on their blog today.  You can go HERE if you want to join in on the  fun and be a part of the kit club!!

Once Upon a Time - Paper Camellia

Starting a new month over on the Paper Camellia blog.  We are getting ready for the October sneak peek and it is full of beautiful product.  I kept my reveal layout simple but right to the point.  I used the gold hearts to look like they are escaping from the jar.

Yes it is pink.  Yes that is my boy.  But, that is also my favorite girl dog that allows me to created with such pretty pink collections.

SHOOT - Paper Camellia

Good morning!
We have survived our Disney trip and I am back at creating again.
Hope you like my next project.

It shows you what happens around my house on a continuous basis.  I feel I am surrounded by boys and boy stuff.  Thank goodness I have a pretty girl pup!  I sometimes feel out numbered!  I am not a fan of the  target on my door but after a couple years of it being there, I don't see it anymore! For my layout, I knew I wanted a large title.  So, I started with that.  Decided next on the woodgrain background because there were so many complimentary colors in my photo.  Again, I changed the color of the gold Thickers with some black spray paint.  Tone on tone journaling helps keep the focus on the photo and title.

Closeups of my layout can be found over at Paper Camellia.

Oh yeah, there is an awesome sketch over on the blog too.  I stayed pretty close to the original here.  Usually I like to change it up, but not this time.

I'll be sharing Disney photos soon.  Check back.

Layout re-do

Recently I was sorting my scrapbooking layouts to file them away into their albums.  (I need a new system!)  I came across three in the bunch that I had to ditch!  Like, I am embarrassed by them.  Seriously!  Here is the original stack to be put away. (Minus 3!)

I reprinted two of the photos and created a new layout with product I just received from Paper Issues!

The woodgrain paper and the Thanksgiving theme, made this layout a perfect fit for Paper Issues Current Link Party - Woodn't You Know, with PinkFresh Studio.

Here is a list of product used on this layout:
MME - enamels
Studio Calico - Flair
Gold Spray paint from Michael's

Thanks for Looking!

Oh, one more thing!
We say a recipe on Pinterest that my boy and I just had to try with the leftover spaghetti.  It is awesome!  Just needs a little dipping sauce on the side!

Leroy

On July 3rd, this year, we adopted my sisters cat Max.  We quickly changed his name to Leroy Brown.  (her last name is Brown)  He is bad.  Like really bad!  But we can not help but love him.  He lays around like a porn star (sorry) and goes where he wants, chews what he wants (like iPhone cords) and bothers us at least 3 times during the night.  Right this minute, I can here him scrabbling around upstairs.  He goes on these rampages throughout the house, scaling over chairs, beds, people.  I have not seen anything like it.  I am surprised the pictures on the walls are still straight!  But, he is really really cool.

So, over at @society52 on Instagram, the weekly challenge is to scrap your pet.  (Thursday, they throw you a twist!)  Also, over at Creative Scrappers, they have sketches, and this one is based off of sketch #254.  I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce to you, the craziest cat ever, Leroy.

Here is the sketch....

Instead of arrows, I opted for hearts.  This awesome cut file is from, The Cut Shoppe by Ashley Horton.  The flair is from A Flair for Buttons, the hearts, washi and stamp are all from Freckled Fawn Oh Deer Me Kits.  The fantastic papers are from Fancy Pants, True Friends.

On May 12th, our family lost one of the best cats ever, Milford.  We had him for 9 short years.  We received him from Santa on Christmas eve when he was 10 months old.  I can not describe to you how cool this cat was.  He was a Bengal cat, so he didn't shed.  People that are allergic, where not as allergic to him.  He loved water and his best friend Flo.  It was one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but it was the right one.

We miss him every day.  Roman still includes him in his nighttime prayer:o(

Anniversary Card using The Rubber Cafe KOTM

Today I am up over at The Rubber Cafe.
Be sure to head over and see how this big bold beautiful card came together for me.  It is simple but fun.  Of course, once each month, I MUST doodle!  I think it is my new favorite thing.
