Weekly Planner Pad - mambi

Sometimes, it is important to get your kids involved.  This is a time where it is necessary in our house.  Going back to school is not a welcome event around here.  So, with a busy "kid" schedule rapidly coming towards us, I decided to use my Weekly Planner Pad to help my boy understand his responsibilities.  Plus, it will help me get him where he needs to go on time.  I asked him if he would like to help decorate my planner pad.  He chose all the stickers and the color of the markers that were added here.  He had the most fun choosing the washi we used from my wide collection.   More activities will arise the first week of school so I had to leave some space for that.  I know music will be added once we get the schedule.

After washi tape, the first thing he wanted me to add is the bus.  Even a kid going into 5th grade, loves bright primary colors.  It was fun to do together.  Better than his Minion calendar hanging in his room with NOTHING written on it!  Maybe together, we can mold him into a planner addict too!

I used the Paper Mate Flair pens that I use for my Happy Planner too.  They do not bleed or run, they are perfect and offer tons of colors!

Last Day 4th Grade - mambi

With all of the harsh winter weather we received here in New England, school is just wrapping up for the kids.  For my boy, he gets to escape a week early due to a yearly family camping trip.  Remember the planner post I did for camping?  I am happy to say that we have returned unscathed by the big black bears!  Matter of fact, we did not even see any.  Anyway, back to the layout at hand, this is of my boy on HIS last day of school.  Can you believe our towns last day was actually June 26th?  Isn't that crazy?

Here is the layout I created for my boy's last day June 19th!

Head over to the mambi blog for more details and to see a list of the products I used.

Back to School - mambi

Ugh, two blog post in one day!!  Be sure to scroll down for my other layout:o)
I created this next layout for mambi a few weeks ago.  They have it posted on their blog today.  Be sure to stop by and say hi.  This layout is sooooo appropriate for after the holidays and heading back to school and work for most people.

These pictures are from the first day of school.  My boy has a habit of looking over his glasses instead of through them.  I love all of the scientific pieces from SOFTSPOKEN mambi stickers.

Hope your enjoying a quiet, peaceful, non-hectic day!

Weeping as I type

I am sitting here, alone, on the first day of school.  I can hear the dog snoring.  Loudly.  My heart is aching a bit as I miss both my boy and his daddy.  They have all returned to their normal routine and I feel a sense of being left behind.  Don't get me wrong.  I have plenty to do.  But with this heaviness, it is hard to accomplish anything today.  I have started dinner.  Did a load of laundry and plan to do some scrapbooking today.  I was feeling a bit of guilt, wishing that school would start,  but as it got closer and closer, I kept thinking how fast the summer has gone and wished that the time would slow down.  Speaking of time slowing down, my boy is in 4th grade.
4th  grade people!!!  He is no longer a baby.  boo hoo.
Here are a few photos of his first day of school.
First picture I took gives you a sense of how this whole photo shoot thing went down.

Driving to bus stop.  Trying to get all his accessories put on.  You know, a survival bracelet and a watch!  He say that 7 hrs is too long for a school day and you just NEVER know when you'll need a cord.

The two handsomest men ever!

6-8 more inches and he will be taller than me.  That is NOT acceptable.

His buddy Cody.  They have a plan to walk home together this year.  Not sure I am ready for this.  I am not sure I am ready for 4th grade.  Next thing you know, he will be moving out and getting married;o(  This is too much for me to handle.  Just too much!

Off he goes.  It is the same bus driver this year, thank you Jesus.

Now, off I go to bury my head in a pillow and wallow in pity.
