Walking in a Winter Wonderland - Simple Stories

Hope you have your warm coats and boots out!  My projects today are going to transport you to a winter wonderland! Just briefly so I guarantee you will survive!

Have you seen the new Mistletoe Kisses from Simple Stories?  It is a perfect collection for documenting Christmas in a non-traditional color way or document fun in the snow, like I did with both of my layouts.  For my first project, the green polka dot paper was a little to bold for my snowy photos, so I white washed my trees with a little white paint.  This technique toned down the green and helped spotlight my photos.  Remember a while back when Simple Stories paired up with Just Nick?  Well, I ordered this Bare Tree  cut file.  I used it for a Halloween layout then, and now for a winter layout.   I did cut two different size trees.

Crafty Girls Create & Snapchat - Simple Stories

Finally, I scrapped the photos from the Crop on the Cape with my Paper Issues pals.  Several of us from all over, got together and went for the weekend.  What a blast!  I also scrapped about Snapchatting with my pal Emily!  It is all on the Simple Stories blog today.

Superbowl Ready & Love - Simple Stories

Did you hear that Simple Stories is trying to name their little puppy mascot?

Before they even told us about the mission to name the little fella, I had created this layout about my dog and being Superbowl ready!  I fussy cut the large dog out of a 12x12 piece of paper and added it to my layout.   Perfect timing!

Mil Vanil - Simple Stories

Join me for my second post of the month over at Simple Stories.  This is Milford.  We were lucky to have him for 9 years.  He was not a healthy little guy but the most lovable, loyal and smart cat we knew.  We lost him 2 years ago and still miss him every day.  

On this day, he was hanging in a grocery bag on the floor!

Boston - Paper Issues

Paper Issues is shining the spotlight on Simple Stories: Life in Color today on their blog.

I decided to create with a photo our our day in Boston with the Jennings. 

 Both Em and Bub jumped high for several photos.  It was a fun, unexpected day.  

I cut out the clouds from a 12x12 sheet.  Placed them around where I wanted them.  I emphasized the clouds by doodling with a black marker and machine stitched around the edge of my page.

Wait! and Documenting Today - Simple Stories

Good Morning!

I am excited about my posts over on the Simple Stories blog today. 

I used the Life In Color collection for both layouts. 

It is pretty amazing how one collection can be used in different ways.  

Documenting Today was super fun.  I actually put it together in my moms living room when recently visiting her.  I had a mess everywhere!  The photo in this layout if from our trip to North Carolina.  

Wait!  Stop & Smile is documenting dinner with my sister and her man at our favorite place to eat back home.  There is nothing but fresh fried seafood!  It is pretty amazing the smiles you get from people when you tell them to say, "booger!"

Par-tay & 10 - Simple Stories

It is my second time blogging for the Simple Stories Design Team.  You can catch me over on their blog today with two new layouts using Let's Party.  Super, colorful and bright.  Good for any age, boy or girl.  I love it.  My fave has to be the chipboard cow and the balloons.

Here is my first layout:  I called it '10' - I finally documented last years bowling birthday party.   (notice half a cow?)

My second layout is called 'Party' - using the same paper line, achieving a totally different look.  I used a balloon cut file that did not work perfectly for my photos.  Head to the Simple Stories blog to see how it all finally came together.

Man I Love you and Family - Simple Stories

Good Morning!  

I am super excited to be on the Simple Stories blog for the first time today as one of their new designers!!  I have created with Simple Stories product forever!  It is almost unbelievable.  I am pretty thrilled.  They require that you post two projects on each blog post.  The theme for this post was 'love.'  Well, you all know I love my main man, but I love my handsome boy and my mom too. So I thought I would do projects revolving around them for todays post.  

For the above project I used Life in Color.  See the name display in the bottom right corner..... thats me!

I dug deeper into my stash for We Are Family to complete this layout.
