Why not celebrate everything?

This card is over on The Rubber Cafe blog.  This map paper from My Mind's Eye is so beautiful.
If you know me at all, you know that I am not a fan of glitter.  If you even say the word, it is all over my face.  I don't even wanna touch it.  So now, imagine this card without the glitter, it just wouldn't work.  Sometimes, glitter is necessary.

READ - anytime and anywhere!

During the school year, Roman had to read 15-20- minutes a day.  I used to have to set a timer to get him to stop so he could journal about what he read.  Or, so we could start doing math and have our nightly fight!!  I would often times find him in the silliest places.  Under the wierdest things.
This summer, if it is a book of his choice, he would read and read too.  With this layout, I thought I would highlight his favorite reading spots.

I found an awesome cut file over at The Cut Shoppe and started pulling papers from this months Studio Calico KOTM.  I added random enamels and some of my favorite flair from A Flair for Buttons

I took the negative of this heart and covered it with washi tape, backed it with foam and added back to the center of the heart.

Hardly any paper was used for this layout exempt the backgrounds, the cut sheet and a touch of the black and white stripped papers from the SC Kit.  It is mostly the embellishments that make this page.    See you soon.

Desperately trying to forget I'm 43!

I guess if you can't forget it, you might as well announce it.
I am divulging too much information about myself over at eclectic Paperie today.  Ugh, can you believe it?  I often feel 43, if not older.  I have just recently started seeing things in the mirror that didn't used to be there.  I could list them but you probably don't care:o)
So instead, I will share a layout with you using Fancy Pants Me-ology line.
I don't often scrapbook about myself, so this is new.

Head over to eP and see more closeups of his layout.  But please,  do not wish me a happy birthday.  It was last month and I refuse to celebrate.  Until next year of course!

Anniversary Card using The Rubber Cafe KOTM

Today I am up over at The Rubber Cafe.
Be sure to head over and see how this big bold beautiful card came together for me.  It is simple but fun.  Of course, once each month, I MUST doodle!  I think it is my new favorite thing.

Life is Good

Today I am sharing this super cute layout of my super cute dog over at A Flair for Buttons
I used a cut file from Silhouette America, flair, my KOTM from eclectic Paperie,  a Fancy Pants title, Freckled Fawn Oh Deer Me KOTM and clouds from Maya Road!

It all started with the circle sun cut file that could house no other face than Flo's!!  I added machine stitching for added embellishment, paint splotches for color and tons of doodling that really makes this layout complete.  The clouds and flair take it to the next level.  I just love adding little bits and pieces of different kits to complete a project.  All of these papers come from American Crafts that were included in my monthly kit from eclectic Paperie.  See above for link.

I hope to see you all again soon.

I'd Follow You Anywhere

So there is this challenge on Instagram every Monday by #Studio52, then on Thursday, they throw you a twist.  It's pretty fun.  It is my second time participating.  I tell ya, I was thrown for a loop  this time.  The challenge was to create a masculine layout.  Then Thursday am, (you could probably hear me gasping at about 10:00 this morning,) they tell us to add butterflies.  BUTTERFLIES to a masculine layout?  Really?  So I read, and re-read the challenge. Yup, butterflies.  I guess that is why it is a challenge, huh?  So this is what I created.  Can you see those little flying things?  There are three of them!

One!

Two!

Three!  See them!

So this is a mode-podge of a whole bunch of stuff.  I started with a Pie Charge Digital file from Silhouette.  I haven't quite mastered my Cameo yet, but the Cameo Basics Class over at Studio Calico has helped.  Grabbed my Chickaniddy Crafts Date Night 6x6 Paper pack which I got over at eclectic Paperie.  This paper line rocks, I can't wait to get my hands on more of their product.  Of course this layout would not be complete without flair from A Flair for Buttons.  I used two different sets here, My Life Words 4 and Sherbet Arrow 1.

I have been "Spotted" over at Jillibean!!

I am so excited to be"spotted" over at Jillibean Soup!
For those of you who do not scrapbook, and are just hanging out here cause you like me, "spotting" means that a manufacturer has noticed something that you have created using their product.  Either through sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or emailing them directly.  They think your stuff is "cool" and share it on their own manufacturing blog.  So, it's pretty cool!

This is the layout that they spotted!

This layout was created with Eclectic Papers kit of the month club!
YAY!!!

Touring Salem, MA

Isn't it funny how you never tour the areas that you live near?
I think there is this little train museum in my home town deep in Maine that I swear I have never stepped foot in.  Well, maybe one of those school tours, but I certainly don't remember.  For the last 20+ years my husband and I have moved too many times to count.  I really know the count!  We moved 13 in 16 years in the Marine Corps then twice after.  So, that makes 15 moves together!  I am a pro and yes, we are still married!  Oh, and that is not counting childhood moves.  While moving around with the military, we toured some areas but still not like we should have.  History was not top on my list of things to hear about!  However, since I have gotten a tad bit older, I wish we would have spent more time checking things out in ALL of the different places we lived.
With that said, we are determined to see things and force fun upon my child!  My cousin got married last year in Salem, MA.  Yup, where they hung witches, so we decided to stay over night and tour the area the next day.  Not sure I would do it again, but am glad that we did it.
Of course, I created a layout of all the fun things we did while there in witches country.

I must say that I am pretty proud of myself, this is the first double page spread I have done is awhile.

Here  the boys are plotting our adventure over breakfast.  Then they decided to pose in this cheesy tourist attraction.  I remember clearly, what Roman said after he walked away from this creepy guy trying to suck his neck!!  He was not impressed.  I remember walking by him smoking, he put his cigarette down, grabbed Roman as smoke was still billowing out of his face holes!  Impressive I must say.  Then he wanted a dollar for the picture!

I can only imagine  how moldy this witch must get in rainy season.  I had no idea what to wear that day touring the area, so I thought a bikini top would be appropriate. hehe.  Roman caught this photo of the two of us strolling the neighborhood.

As you can see in the detail shots, I used several different paper layers.  This layout was created using Studio Calico's Hello Hello scrapbook kit as the starting point.  I think you can still get it:o)  The cityscape sheet was my fave.  Since it is a doodled scape, I decided I would doodle throughout my layout.  (as shown in close ups)  The pen I use is a must have for any journaler, doodler or checkbook balancer!  I got it, and two others from Eclectic Paperie.  It is called Fude Ball 1.5 MM black pen!  You won't be mad at me if you get one cause I told ya too.  I promise!  I also threw in some Glitz Design 6x6 Dapper Dan paper pack and Rhinestones.  Iguana Thickers, Freckled Fawn July 2014 and past kit embellishments and Studio Calico's green tag.

Hope you enjoyed the trip through Salem.  It's a fun place, if your into witches:o)

FETISH

Today, I am here to share a little secret with you.  I am wondering if anyone else out there has a dish fetish as bad as mine???
Randy brought home an armful of beautiful hand painted pottery from Mexico.

I asked if he could bring extras of the exact same thing for a few friends as a thank you gift for helping during a recent surgery.  Of course, no two things are alike when hand-painting!!  The decision was tough.  I wanted them all!!!  Insert sad face.  I did it though, it was hard but I did it.
Just yesterday I received a delightful package full of flair from Shelley over at A Flair for Buttons.  It included the two flair from the "Mexico Flair" set that I specifically asked for.

Here is how I paid homage to my beautiful pottery collection.

I started designing with my flair.  Picked papers that matched and then made a cut with my Cameo.

To figured out how to ungroup and select just what you want you should go here for FANTASTIC instructions.  You certainly do NOT want me to try and explain the step.

Here is what I decided on, although the hearts and starbursts did not make it to this layout.  I do love the imperfect circles.  Reminds me of the imperfectly perfect pottery in my photo.

Head to A Flair for Buttons to see a few more photos of this project.

Family mini album part duex!

It is my turn over at Eclectic paperie and I am finishing off this mini that I submitted a few months back for the Get Altered - altered book challenge.
Go here to see what I mean!
Well, I am gonna share the rest of this mini with you today.  I seriously finished this guy while my family was camping in the deep woods of Maine.  I stayed back while my family hiked deep into bear country.    Hang on while I take you through this photo heavy journey of 2013 family selfies!  I believe if you click on each photo separately, it will make it larger for you to read my journaling.  Only if you are interested:o)

Here is proof that I scrapped while camping!!!

Tata!
