Mother's Day - The Cut Shoppe

This year for Mother's Day, we were in Florida at Legoland on probably the hottest day ever!
A couple years ago on MY day, we bought a 4-wheeler for my husband.  Not all the activities we do on Mother's Day are about me.  But, I will confess that I am pretty spoiled most days of the year.  I guess it doesn't have to be solely about me, as long as I am with the one who made me a mother, right!

Here is the layout that is being featured over at The Cut Shoppe today.

What did you do for Mother's Day?  I would love to know!

Celebrate Love - AFB & TCS

You can find me over on The Cut Shoppe Blog and the A Flair for Buttons Blog today.
I am excited to share how well these two products can be combined.
In June of 2013, we attended my cousins wedding in Salem, MA.
It was absolutely beautiful and so was the bride.
I must say how handsome my grandfather looked that day.
He is pictured to the left with my handsome boy.

I used Studio Calico Far Far Away Kit, Freckled Fawn and Dear Lizzy Resin Flowers, Cut files from The Cut Shoppe and flair from A Flair for Buttons.

Thank you for taking a look at more of my family and stop back by soon.

New Year's Eve - The Cut Shoppe

For the last 4-5 years, my little family has been joining friends for a hard core bowling and eating frenzy.  It starts really early and it's just for a couple hours, to ensure everyone can get home before the crazies are out driving.  For 3 years (?) our friends, the Jennings have joined us.  We have created an after party kinda thing at our house.  We play games, eat more food and enjoy a cold beverage or two.  We are safe and have a grand time.  When I saw Ashley's cut files for New Years, I thought I would go ahead and document the afterparty.  Here is my layout that is over at The Cut Shoppe blog today.

I used Studio Calico papers from the Walden and Park Ave kits.  I added a few random elements from Dear Lizzy and Amy Tangerine.  An older Two Peas flair and some Tinsel Color Shine by Heidi Swapp.  Here are a few close ups of the layout.

The original cut file looks like this...

I decided to remove the hearts and add the burst from the Hero Up cut file instead.  When adding the burst, I removed the words from it too.  I thought the burst would was a better for my topic.

I started adding "2015" here and realized that it wasn't quite 2015 yet.

So, over at The Cut Shoppe Blog, there is a ONE DAY ONLY sale celebrating Ashley's birthday.  Use code: FLASH40 to get 40% off everything today only.  So, go HERE NOW!!

The details of this layout was also inspired by the Creative Jumpstarts 07 challenge over at Marcy Penner and Stephanie Bryans blogs.

See you again really soon!

Grateful

People seem to express their gratitude more during this month than any other.  I wanted to express how grateful I was for my family.  My boys mean the world to me.  They make me happy every single day.  Without them, my world would be dull.

Over at Paper Issues today, they are having a Cut It Out Link Party.  This is where you can link up any creation you made with this months FREE cut file for a chance to win.  Some of the team has been asked to play along.  Easy peasy!  When I saw the "Grateful" cut and the leaves, I knew I wanted in!  I also used the FREE November Printable that is available HERE.

Here is the Cut file used on this layout:

Here is the original 3x4 card printable.
I enlarged the NOV card on my Cameo machine and printed as a 8.5 x 11.

Chickaniddy's Scrumptious line had the perfect colors to match the green in NOV!
You can purchase it over at the Paper Issues Store with code: Mary-Ann for a 20% discount!

Be grateful.

Life is Good

Today I am sharing this super cute layout of my super cute dog over at A Flair for Buttons
I used a cut file from Silhouette America, flair, my KOTM from eclectic Paperie,  a Fancy Pants title, Freckled Fawn Oh Deer Me KOTM and clouds from Maya Road!

It all started with the circle sun cut file that could house no other face than Flo's!!  I added machine stitching for added embellishment, paint splotches for color and tons of doodling that really makes this layout complete.  The clouds and flair take it to the next level.  I just love adding little bits and pieces of different kits to complete a project.  All of these papers come from American Crafts that were included in my monthly kit from eclectic Paperie.  See above for link.

I hope to see you all again soon.

Toys for Tots

With my husband being a retired Marine and has spent several years during his career participating in Toys for Tots, it was kind neat having connections to help Roman's Cub Scout group get involved.  The Cub Scout Group started collecting for Toys for Tots 3 years ago, but this is the first year that our friend, Chief Jennings (Navy) participated so we had to capture photos!

It was really neat to have the Marines & Navy, do uniform inspections on the boys, shake each hand and thank them individually for helping other, less fortunate children.

I wanted to keep my layout clean and highlight the photos, my title and the "Say Cheese" tag.  I used this months Copper Mountain scrapbooking kit from Studio Calico and a few older ones as well.  Under the photo to the left, I did add some journaling.

I felt that my thin title needed stitching to help keep in place.

These black circles you see are from an older Studio Calico Stamp Set.  I added them to help balance the bold black on my tag.

Thanks for peeking in.
