Two camping trips and no bears

I must warn you folks that this here blog post is going to be photo heavy.  I could show you all the pictures from our two, deep in the woods camping trips, but I think that my computer would crash and you would ever return to my blog.  So I will just share a few of my faves.  Or ones that are important and don't show how terribly dirty my hair is.

Our first Camping trip of the summer was to Baxter State Park, deep in Maine.  Yes Maine is beautiful country.  I grew up there, not appreciating what it offers.  I DO appreciate Maine, just not the deep in the woods parts of it!  Anyway, you are not interested in my whining so I will continue.

Here we are happy.  We always take a selfie entering the park on the dirt road.  Our bodies are clean and my hair looks decent.

We still like each other here.  Must be the first night!  I can see that we are set up behind us, I am surprised that we are willing to smile in a photo together after erecting the tarps.

The boys are off on a hike.  Can't remember where.  Wonder if I have a memory disfunction.

Roman and Tyler on a hike to the falls.  Oh!!!  That is where all the  boys hiked to in the previous picture!

Diggin in to MRE's cause that's how they roll.  We are at Little and Big Niagra.  My second hike of the trip.  Pretty impressive since I am still recovering from knee replacement! (you can clap now!)

Cheesy selfie on one of the boys hikes.

That's my boy, catching fish like he's in a derby.  He came back 20 pounds lighter after all the mosquitos sucked out half his blood!

Here we are, still smiling.  I think it is because we are on our way out of the park after 6 nights.  I KNOW that is why I am smiling!  This is the rock that gets painted by a local guy.  It's a tourist thing!

Yup, happy we are outta there and dirty!

Our next trip was with some chums to another section of Maine.  Deep deep in the woods. Deep deep down Richardson Lake, 100 miles by boat to a camp site called Black Point that can not be reached by car.  Did you hear me???  No civilization.  At all.  Period.   This is our third year (not consecutively) attending this extremely dirty event!

My boy driving in!   (only for a few seconds while Ang takes a potty break!)  The luxuries of boating with a toilet!

Please don't fret peeps, these are air soft guns with adult supervision.

My pals.  This is before the excitement!  We had a mean game of chicken foot happening on this here table not long after this photo was taken.

Seriously, have you evan cooked lobster for 17 people in the middle of no where?  Without running water?  Well, you have not lived!  They threatened to set the trash bags of guts right outside my tent.

This would NOT be my husband fishing without a license, cause that would be illegal amongst one state trooper and one police chief!!  He is fixing the pole for one of the kids.

This is only half the bunch!  There are many many more kids and many many dogs.  Yes, that boy has his face deep in his plate of Maine maple syrup.  None can go to waste!

Getting outta dodge!  Just in time for severe thunderstorms!
This is the end of my journey.  I survived.  No bear sightings.  Thank you Jesus.

Til next time.....

Sail away with me

So, what happens over at The Rubber Cafe is that I am asked to create 4 cards in one month with their Creative Cafe Kit of the Month.  Often times, just three of those cards are used during the month and if needed the fourth will be pulled and used.  Since my fourth will not be used this month, I thought I would fill in a day on my own blog and share my "Sail away with me" Nautical card.

I stamped the sailboat on several different colors and paper-pieced the sail together in the colors that I wanted.  Since the heart was sooooo small to fussy cut, I used a small heart stamp that I had on hand. Not loving the paper-piecing, I got out my doodle pen and started tracing around each piece of paper that I had placed down.  This helped a lot.  You can see at the bottom of the page, I added the twirled ribbon in an ombre effect, trying to replicate water.  The seagulls are hand drawn with my doodle pen.

Since I have returned from second camping trip this summer, I want NOTHING to do with water unless it is my own pool.  NOTHING to do with boats unless its smaller than me and can be played with in my own pool!  Matter of fact, I want NOTHING to do with being outside unless it is in my own backyard.  But of course, nothing I have just said will be honored since I am off on another journey tomorrow and will be near water, boats, and the outdoors.  ugh, I give up!

Thanks for dropping in today.  See you again real soon.

Floatable Lego

Summer is flying by this year.  We have had a commitment every day since school let out. I have had very little time to scrapbook amongst all the company and traveling we have been doing.  Plus, each available sunny moment MUST be spent out by the pool.  With that said, I quickly created this page, just a couple days after taking the pictures.  This Lego is SOOOOOO  cool, it floats!  Of course the base of the Lego is one piece to allow for floating but the rest had to be built!

I created this layout starting with the triangle cutting on my Silhouette Cameo.  It was tricky but I recently took a class with Studio Calico that seriously walks you through step by step instructions.  It is very cool.  Even for people like me, with no extra time to spare!  Check it out HERE!

The papers come from my recent kit of the month with eclectic Paperie.  I may be biased because I select all the papers and embellishments but it really is a fun kit to be a apart of.  My friend from PA recently signed up and she is scrapping like crazy!  You can sign up HERE!

So, the other embellies that you see come  from Freckled Fawn - Oh Deer Me Kit of the Month.  I just am a buyer and hoarder of their kits!  The just provide you with little bits and pieces that help embellish you scrapbooking pages.  You can get that HERE!  I seriously should get paid for all of these commercials!

See those red and white candy buttons?  Those were part of the eP kit but they are produced by Queen & Company.

"These Moments" was a printable that came with the class I am taking over at Studio Calico.

This was really fun to put together and really fun to share.  Hope you like it, come back again soon.

MADE MY DAY

When I was traveling last year, Randy sent me this picture of Roman via text doing a hand heart with the biggest bottom lip ever!  I knew it was for effect but it still made it hard to be away.  Not that I am thrilled about having knee replacement, but it has kept me put for the meantime.  I love being home with my boys.  This is the first time in about 5 years that I have not traveled for the summer.  I thought that summers would last longer because we wouldn't be so busy.  WRONG!  I have something in my calendar for every day in July.  Summers are so short here in New England and the time certainly flies by.

I loved this project life card by Pink Paislee that was included in my eclectic Paperie Kit of the Month.  It had the perfect sentiment except what was right on the top.  Since I have covered it, I can not remember what it actually said.  I like my title better anyway:o) Plus I needed to tie in a little o f the cream color.

Of course, I threw in a touch of flair from A Flair for Buttons.  Perfect color, perfect saying!

Thanks for taking a peek at my layout and my favorite guy.

See you all again real soon.

OK (Oklahoma)

Sharing a layout over at A Flair for Buttons today.
The photos on the layout share with you how strenuous flying can be.  Until of course, you insert food into your body and mom takes a selfie!  I used Chic Tags paper and embellishments, Freckled Fawn letters and tags and three different flair!

Head over to A Flair for Buttons blog to see more of my layout or head to the ETSY shop to buy your own flair, cause I ain't giving you ANY of mine:o)

It's a Beautiful Day with The Rubber Cafe (hehehe)

I am laughing at my gift of poetry in my title!  I could not resist.  Today I am sharing this super cute card created with The Rubber Cafe's Kit of the Month.  I built my own polaroid and see myself sitting in this cozy chair on the beach in my fantasy.  People who know me, know that I don't go to the beach.  Cause where there is beach there is sharks!!!

I like my pool.  I can see to the bottom.  Although we do have a shark in it as well:o)  But I think i can take this shark.

Congratulations

We are back from camping and have a full house of company.  Isn't that when your creative juices flow?  It is for me.  Seems like when I shouldn't be scrapping or can't be scrapping, I am full of ideas and am itching to get into my space.  FYI, you probably already know because I am typing this as you read, I survived the deep woods of Maine.  There were no bear attacks or bear sightings for that matter.  I will post separately for that topic since I have a million and one photos to share that I was threatened not to share!  hehe

Back to paper........ I created a congratulations card for a graduation party but it could certainly be used for any occasion.  Maybe retirement, promotion, or graduation from 3rd grade:0)
I combined Chic Tags with A Flair for Buttons.  It is like mixing chocolate with peanut butter.  They go together magically.

See you again soon.
