Memories - Paper Issues

I am on the Paper Issues Blog today!

Who doesn't love a good pet challenge- Secret Life of Pets!
I have no problems at all fulfilling this requirement!
I have a cat and a dog now and have always had pets.
My previous kitty, Milford, used to be involved in everything.  But, most cats have minds of their own, right?  I was trying to capture pictures of my boy the morning of second grade.
There Milford is, front and center.
I sure do miss this beautiful boy.

I used the August Swag Bag as my inspiration.  It contains bits and pieces of new product that is coming out, or new to the store.  It had some Pinkfresh
so I used a 12x12 sheet from that collection as my base.
I also dug back to the June Swag Bag to use the Glitter Nuvo Pen that was included.

Go over to our PIFF facebook page and enter the August challenges.  It will give you inspiration, get you motivated and you might even win a prize!

Good Times - Elle's Studio

Hey Elle's friends!

This is my first time experimenting with the stamps from Elle's Studio.  I loved the grid stamp in the Highlights From Today Stamp Set and wondered how I could incorporate that on a layout?!  I dug out all the color inks I could find that would coordinate nicely with the colorful 4x6 journal block in the August 2019 Kit.

I trimmed down the 4x6 block to fit nicely around the base of my photo.  I laid this down on my base paper and drew a light pencil line around the frame.  This gave me an idea of where I could stamp, without worrying about getting ink on my photo.  I layered the stamp several times with varying colors.

I used stamps from the Back to School Stamp Set too.  The heart, star, the word Friends and 100% mini circle stamps were helpful in filling in empty space all around my layout.   The I cut the Best Friends Cork Circle from Makes Me Smile Cork Circles, in half and used it towards the top and near the bottom of my layout.  Trying to bring more of that color all around, forcing the eye to move about.

I made finally touches with Acrylic Sunglasses, and puffies from the Back To School puffy stickers.  These items brought in even more color and texture.  I did pull out an old tool, a marker with two different size ends that leaves large or small black circles.  I make lots of smaller dots all over the place.

I love how it all came together.  Look how fun stamping on a 12x12 layout can be.  Most of the embellishments are from just the stamping!  You should give it a try!

School's Out for Summer - Elle's Studio

Morning!

Are you aware that every month, new cut files are released?  If your haven't see them yet, you gotta check out the cut files that are released on the 10th of each month.  Elle coordinates fun files with the monthly releases.  Some are pretty fun!  Like the Apple Cut File that was created for August.

Supplies used:  Apple Cut File, August 2019 Kit, Be Yourself Phrase Stickers, Back to School Puffy Stickers, Red Jane Alpha Stickers, Puffy yellow Alphas, Family Fun #4, Noteworty 6x6, Beautiful Day 6x6

I started my layout, knowing I wanted to replicate the apple all about my page.  I opened the file, made it the size I wanted then duplicated it multiple times and moved the apples around the page to my liking. There may be a much easier way, but this works for me.  I backed the leaf section first, the stem and then the apple.

Sometimes when you use a cut file, there isn't much else you really need.  The file provides so much, all on its own.  I did use 3 different font stickers for my title. Lots of color and different patterns.

I encourage you to try using a cut file.  Try replicating it multiple times.  Just go check them out and use them on your next project.
