Beautiful - Paper Issues

Good morning!
I am here today to share a layout using the Pinspire Me Mood board for September
from Paper Issues.
I designed the board a few months ago and completely forgot about the color pallet.
Once I saw it again, I was drawn to the purples in the photos.  Sometimes, I am drawn to the actual activity or item in them,  but this time is was color.  Plus the flowers!  Who doesn't love flowers?

Here is what I came up with using Wild at Heart from Cocoa Vanilla.
I also used one of our newer FREE cut files - Beautiful Ovals.

All of the Paper Issues challenges are an easy way to get inspired.
Sometimes you need a little push.
I hope you are having fun playing along.  If you haven't started yet, go to the Paper Issues Friends and Fans page for September and see all the different challenges and in the comments you will see how people are playing along.  Its really fun.

Head on over to the Paper Issues store and download a few or even all of the FREE cut files.
While you are there, grab what you need for 20% off with code: Mary-Ann.

Zoo - Fancy Pants

There is a new travel collection over on the Fancy Pants sister site,
Make a Pretty Life called On Our Way.  It is filled with non-traditional colors and I love it.
It can be used in so many ways.  I used it for a Zoo layout today.

We had gone to Fort Worth Texas to see our chums and we took a trip to the zoo one day.
Randy and I had been there before when we lived in Oklahoma.
We wanted Roman to experience how big and beautiful a zoo could be and
see where we had once ventured without him.
It is hard to imagine life without this kid or these friends.

Star Power - Queen and Company

Good morning!
Mary-Ann Maldonado here with a fun way to use your shaker die cuts to their fullest potential.  I was assigned the Stars Shaped Shaker Kit over at Queen & Company, and I incorporated it into my title two times!
You can see below that I used a cut file for my title from Paper Issues.  I used a FREE cut file and cut it 3 times.  Twice as a background and once in black as shown.  There are three stars in the kit and I chose the one that would best fit in the place of the A.  I filled it with random toppings to help coordinate with the colors in my photo.
I used the smaller star for the O in Power.  You can sere that I used think strips of papers to create a background for my layout.  Then I journaled on white paper strips and stamped a few sentiments on white as well and tucked them in random places.
I pepped Rubber Bubbles, Buttons, Opals and Rivets for color and embellishment.
Thank you for stopping by today.  Grab your shaker kits and incorporate them onto your next layout.

Adventure - Fancy Pants

Good morning!

It almost seems fitting to have a great big road sign for a road trip, right?  Well I found a FREE cut file from Paper Issues that works perfectly for the On Our Way Collection from Fancy Pants.  It is called Travel Signs.

I started with the road map paper, cause its my fave!  I then cut out the cut file and layered my ephemera and photos.  Thats it.  With the large road sign, there was not room for much else.

I wasn't sure where to place my journaling.  So I printed it really small across the white stripe on the cut file.  Perfect place for it and it does not interfere with the flow of the page.

Thanks for stopping in today.  Get out those travel photos and get them scrapped!

It's a Boy Thing - Paper Issues

Morning!

A sketch is a great way to get the creative mojo flowing.
I really need it lately.

I dug out a photo of 3 of my favorite boys, having fun around a hotel in Philadelphia.  We met their mom to pick them up for a week.  We had the best time.  Wish we could do it again real soon,  I miss them terribly.

Any-who, I was given a sketch to create a layout over at Paper Issues.  This is what I came up with.  I used Simple Stories Lil Dude from the Paper Issues store.  You can grab what every you need, anytime for 20% off if you use code: Mary-Ann.

Let's Go - Fancy Pants

Morning!

Are you a collector of postcards?  Recently (like several months ago now!) we went to Hershey Park in PA and I collected 2 different ones.  I was thinking that I would use them in the scrapbooking layout that documented the trip.  I did not think that I would cut them and have them be part of my title!  But I love how it looks and you can still can see the advertisement on both of the cards.  I used the On Our Way collection from Fancy Pants and this is only half of the color explosion the collection offers!

Since the title was busy and I had lots of photos, I kept the embellishing to a minimum.  I did use one of the cute frames from the ephemera pack and a few geo tags.

Instead of my traditional strips of journaling, I contained my information on one of the tickets from the ephemera pack too.

Simple layout.  But lots of fun.  I included both post cards and I call that a win!

Oh, the cut file is from Paper Issues and it is FREE!  It is called: Let's Go.

Boys Rule - Paper Issues

Paper Issues partnered up with PageMaps to get our creative juices flowing.  Sometimes you just need a nudge.  I certainly do right now.  They provided a few sketchs for our PI team to use.  I had a great time with Simple Stories Lil' Dude.

For the bottom polka dot paper, I used the FREE cut file from Paper Issues called - Polka Dots.

Remember to use code: Mary-Ann for 20% off your entire purchase from Paper Issues.
