Star Wars vs. Disney!

Hi all!  I have been without internet for over 4 days!  Everything that I need to do lately is connected somehow to the internet or so it seems:0(  Finally after 2 home visits from the 'medical team' of Comcast, I am up and running, for now!  If I could have just got the technician, the Comcast phone people and Apple phone people on the phone all at one time, my problems would have been solved much much faster.  My blood pressure was, I am sure, through the roof and I am lucky I am not in jail for crawling through the phone and attaching the rude chic on the other end!  Oh well, I shall now try to catch up.

A few days ago, I mentioned to you that I was working on trying to get older, open-ended projects completed!  I have completed two of those such products!!!!  I am soooo proud of myself.  The first is a mini album that I purchased from a friend of mine, Angela.  She designed this cute little mini book with papers and embellishments fit for any kid that goes to Disney.  Sometimes it is nice for someone else to do the thinking and designing.  I will only take credit in this album for the cute kid, shrunk down autographs and cutting the papers to the size she told me to!  After standing in long lines for many hours, we were able to get several autographs from various characters and I shrunk them on my very own, brand new scanner!!!  So, the originals are still in tact and the copies are shrunk to fit my need for the album!  I love how this turned out.  Super cute!

The next album you will see is not my best.  Matter of fact, I probably should not be showing it to you.  Roman however, was super thrilled when I completed it for him.  He has millions of 3 inch Star Wars characters.  I decided that it would be great to capture pictures of these creatures, and make a small album for him to keep in his room.  I saw this album, papers, chipboards, and stickers when I was traveling to conventions last year.  Loved it at the time.  Then, I picked it up to do something with it and now, not so much.

At least my boy loves it and that is all that matters.  I have been working on cards too!  Those I have to say, are coming out WAY better!  I will post those soon.  Keep your fingers crossed that my computer problems are fixed.  If you do not hear from me within the next few days, I am probably at the local jail, please send chocolate!!!  xoxoxo

New class!

Hi all!  Thanks for checking back in with me if you are one of those that are checking this out!!  I will be teaching this class at Ink About It in Westford, MA on Saturday the 12th of March if you would like to join me.  It is using the newer line from Basic Grey, "Hopscotch" which is uber cute!

I have also been working on completing uncompleted projects.  Once I started, I realized why I put them aside in the first place.  So, after months and months of procrastinating, I picked them up with a new perspective and tried again.  Soon to realize I had the same perspective.  Not much fun!!  I would be rather doing something else.  So, what do I do, start cleaning the toilet, mopping the floors, stripping the bed.  None of which get the projects done.  I return to my desk to a pile of "stuff" that did nothing for me in the first place.  BUT, I am not a quitter.  I will finish these projects before I clean anything else.  If these projects get done, I will post pictures!  Maybe!!!  Until next time, peace out!

Snow Days = Work Days

Snow days for me lately have meant laundry days.  My washer broke some 3 weeks ago and after many bad spells, it is fixed!!!!  I had no idea how much I love my washer until it left me.  Briefly.  It is soooo true, that you never know what you got until its gone!  I would post a picture of my laundry pile but it is too embarrassing.  Maybe at some point I will scrap it and you will get a glimpse from that.  I prayed every night that the laundry fairy would appear.  Never happened!  So between loads of laundry, I was able to complete a couple more pages for that kit club I was telling you about.  First I need to tell you about my mom.  She and my boy are tight.  Really tight.  She feels that they need to cook something every time they get together.  With them, cooking = mess!  They have so much fun.  This is an older photo of them making meatloaf for Randy.  I can not stand the sight of it!  Yuck!  We call my mom Tea Grammy cause she drinks 500 cups of tea a day.  Seriously!  So, you can imagine my excitement when the "kit" from the club had a tea cup!

As you can see, I love to layer, raise things up, and clump things together, hence the name "Lump Bump and Clump!!"  Did I mention how much I love this line of paper?

So in my family, I have one husband, one kid, one dog and one cat!  The cat often gets left out.  He just does not demand as much of my attention as everyone else.  So, I felt the need to honor him.  As much as I hate to admit this, the small picture of him is behind the nice warm steamy crock pot.  When you can not find Milford, he is either in a sun beam, on the dryer or a pile of clothes for comfort.  He is truly a cool cat.  Again as my son would say, "Ain't he purdy!"

Old-er stuff!

The pictures that I am gonna show you are not OLD, they are just before my "blog" started.  So, they are older than the blog!!  This is a class that I taught at the local scrapbook store, Ink About It, in Westford (thought I'd give them a shout out!!)

I had a ton of fun so I thought I would do it again with this wall decor.  It is a tray from 7 Gypsies, embellished with Basic Grey, Tim Holtz and misc. goodies.

As you can see from this square, not everything has to be embellished.  Sometimes simplicity is best.  Of course, not all the time!!!  I change my style like I change my underwear, so, the only thing keeping these sections in place are the traps.  I can take them out, change the color or even change the people!  It would be fun to change this for the seasons.  I can imagine bunnies for Easter, green for St. Patrick's Day and Spiders for Halloween.  Oh, the possibilities!

We manipulated this tray by removing the metal around the wire, punched a hole and applied a jump ring with with a red ball that barely fit on it!!!  It was such a challenge that even my two-handed, advanced scrapbooking friends had a difficult time! LOL!  I guess I should have invited metal workers to this class.  So, all you metal workers out there, I have added you to my invite list!
Hugs,
Mary-Ann
